Description
The Planning Manager will play a critical role in integrating design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities into a unified project program. The role involves coordination with design, contracts, procurement, construction, and cost control teams to monitor performance, mitigate risks, and report progress to internal and client stakeholders.
About the Role
The Planning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of large-scale projects, ensuring that all activities are aligned and executed efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain baseline project schedules including Level 1 (overall), Level 2 (discipline-wise), and Level 3 (detailed activity-based) schedules.
- Monitor progress of design submissions, procurement milestones, construction activities, testing, and commissioning.
- Interface with design, procurement, construction, and cost control teams to ensure coordination of scheduling inputs and real-time updates.
- Identify schedule deviations, analyze critical path activities, and propose corrective or mitigation actions.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, earned value analysis, and schedule risk assessments.
- Participate in contractor meetings to validate progress claims, coordinate look-ahead schedules, and align activity sequencing.
- Support tender evaluations by analyzing contractor construction durations and resource planning submissions.
- Review contractor construction programs and ensure compliance with the overall project schedule.
- Maintain schedule control logs, baseline updates, float analysis, and delay tracking documentation.
- Report schedule impacts related to design changes, variation orders, or late deliverables to the Control Manager and client.
- Assist in preparing recovery schedules and performance dashboards for senior management and client presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 20 years of experience in planning and scheduling of large-scale high-rise or mixed-use projects.
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, design coordination, and integrated planning principles.
- Familiarity with earned value management, delay analysis methodologies, and progress tracking tools.
- Knowledge of Indian construction practices and international planning standards.
- Proficiency in English and local language is mandatory.
- Willingness to be based full-time on-site in Gurugram, India.
