Vertical Scope Group (VSG) are continuing to grow our team, and we are seeking driven and highly skilled, NV1 security cleared, ICT Security Specialist join our award-winning team in delivering services to our customer in the National Security Community.

• Contract: Initial contract to 30 June 2026, with a strong likelihood of a 12-month extension
• Location: Canberra, ACT (on-site)
• Security Clearance: NV1 security clearance required
• Key Skills: Cyber security assessments, system security engineering, risk management, ISO 27001 / NIST frameworks, Defence cyber accreditation and ATO processes

We are seeking an experienced NV1 Cyber & Security Specialist to support critical cyber security engineering activities within a complex Defence environment. In this role, you will contribute to the protection of sensitive systems and information by driving cyber security assessments, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with Defence and international security standards. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in strengthening cyber resilience for high-value platforms while working alongside leading technical specialists in a fast-paced and mission-critical environment.

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, system security, or security management.
• Practical experience working with the Defence Security Manual and Defence cyber security policies.
• Minimum five years’ experience in ICT security roles, particularly cyber accreditation and Authority to Operate (ATO) for materiel systems.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and international security standards, including ISO 27001 and NIST frameworks.
• Experience applying the Defence Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework.
• Proven ability to conduct cyber risk assessments and implement security controls within complex ICT environments.
