The Department of Education (DoE) is driven by its vision of equity and excellence, and we are looking for a skilled professional to join our team as Manager, Cyber Security.
About The Role
As the Manager, Cyber Security, you will play a pivotal role in protecting the department's information systems and data. Reporting directly to the Director of the Information Security Services Unit , you will:
- Provide high-level, strategic, and operational advice regarding cyber security management, compliance, and adequacy of security controls.
- Leverage industry experience in current cyber security strategies to mitigate risks and deliver effective operational outcomes.
- Analyse, develop, and implement security systems and solutions that align with current standards and cyber security practice.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader operational priorities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop your team, fostering an inclusive and high-performing work environment that prioritises innovation and continuous improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Exhibit proven experience in managing cyber security services in a large and complex organisational setting.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of current cyber security practices, frameworks, and emerging threats.
- Possess strategic thinking skills, creativity in solving technical challenges, and the ability to make insightful and ethical decisions.
- Showcase strong leadership and the ability to inspire and develop a diverse team.
- Be committed to fostering healthy workplaces and promoting equity and excellence for all.
