Job Title: Payroll Implementation Specialist
Salary: €85,000 to €90,000
Location: Remote, Germany

A well-established international payroll services provider is looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Implementation Specialist to support the onboarding of new clients and the successful rollout of payroll solutions across Germany. This is a fully remote opportunity suited to a payroll professional who enjoys combining operational payroll expertise with systems implementation work.
This position sits within a busy payroll operations environment and focuses on guiding new clients through the full payroll setup process. You will be responsible for translating client requirements into system configuration, ensuring German statutory rules are applied correctly and supporting organisations through the transition to a new payroll platform.
The role offers the chance to work with a broad client base ranging from smaller organisations to larger enterprises, delivering accurate payroll services while maintaining a high standard of client support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the onboarding of new payroll clients and manage payroll system configuration from initial setup through to go live
- Analyse payroll data and requirements to ensure accurate system configuration
- Configure payroll rules in line with German taxation, social insurance and employment regulations
- Run parallel payroll tests, identify discrepancies and resolve configuration issues
- Act as the main contact for clients during the implementation phase, providing guidance on payroll processes and statutory obligations
- Work closely with internal teams including technical and operational specialists to resolve queries
- Deliver system demonstrations and user guidance to ensure clients understand payroll outputs and functionality
- Track implementation progress and ensure agreed project milestones are met
- Keep up to date with developments in German payroll legislation and assess any operational impact
Candidate Requirements
- Fluency in German with strong practical knowledge of German payroll processing
- Proven experience delivering end to end payroll in Germany
- At least two years experience implementing payroll systems or leading payroll transitions
- Strong numerical ability and a meticulous approach to payroll accuracy
- High attention to detail with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Confident working with payroll platforms, databases and Excel
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines while maintaining service quality
