This engagement is structured as an independent freelance contract. The freelancer will contribute animation assets and visual effects that support gameplay and enhance the overall player experience. The contract is fixed term.
Qualified applicants will be expected to complete a graphics test.
Scope of Work
The freelancer will support the project by delivering animation assets and related visual content, including:
- Creating high-quality 2D animations for gameplay elements, characters, and environments.
- Producing particle effects and visual effects to enhance gameplay feedback and visual storytelling.
- Creating UI animations that contribute to a polished and dynamic player interface.
- Preparing animation assets compatible with the project’s technical requirements and pipelines.
- Ensuring animation deliverables are consistent with the established visual style and art direction of the game.
- Iterating on animation assets based on project feedback cycles.
- Supporting additional 2D asset production tasks when required, such as preparing assets for rigging, adjusting existing assets, or producing supporting illustrations.
- Using AI-assisted tools where helpful for asset preparation or adjustments.
- Demonstrated professional experience as a 2D Animator in the games industry (portfolio or demo reel required).
- Strong expertise in Spine, including advanced understanding of production workflows and animation systems.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects or comparable software for visual effects and animation previews.
- Strong understanding of animation fundamentals such as timing, weight, and motion.
- Ability to work within an established visual style and animation direction.
- Experience creating 2D particles or hand-drawn FX for gameplay animation.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality assets within production timelines.
- Experience working with Unity.
- Familiarity with HTML5-based game production pipelines.
- Proficiency in digital painting tools such as Photoshop.
- Experience working with version control systems (Git) and related tools.
