We're currently seeking a passionate Back-End Software Engineer to help shape the future of our digital products.


As a Back-End Software Engineer at Žalgiris, you'll be instrumental in developing robust services that power our fan-facing applications. You'll create seamless integrations with various platforms, manage real-time data flows, and collaborate with fellow engineers to deliver scalable solutions that align with our business objectives. Your work will directly impact how fans connect with and experience the Žalgiris brand across digital platforms.


Responsibilities


  • Design and develop backend services within a Symfony-based, resource-oriented architecture.
  • Optimize database schemas and query performance for high-concurrency event data.
  • Implement asynchronous processing, event-driven workflows, and real-time features.
  • Integrate third-party systems including payment providers, email services, and cloud services.
  • Support infrastructure evolution – containerization, CI/CD, and cloud environments.
  • Drive architectural decisions, mentor team members, and establish engineering best practices.


Required Skills


  • PHP 8.x and modern development practices.
  • Deep experience with the Symfony framework and API Platform.
  • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and Doctrine ORM.
  • Experience with message queues (SQS) and real-time technologies (SSE, Mercure).
  • Experience with Redis for caching and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments (AWS preferred).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (ELK, Datadog, etc.) for debugging.
  • Experience writing comprehensive tests – unit, integration, and functional.


Nice-to-have Skills


  • Experience within e-commerce or other high-traffic platforms.
  • Broad knowledge of AWS services (S3, CloudFront, ECS, RDS, etc.).
  • Experience with Payment Gateway integrations (Stripe, Adyen, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools.


Salary:


  • Gross salary starts from 3500 EUR/month and is based on your skills and competences
