About the Role

The Data Scientist / Data Analyst will support the analytics and insight initiatives with a strong focus on applied data science, advanced analytics, and insight communication in the pharmaceutical industry. The role combines hands-on technical execution with analytical thinking, stakeholder-ready presentation, and experimentation with modern AI and LLM-driven workflows.

Key Responsibilities

The person will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:

– Design and implement data science solutions with a focus on NLP, topic modelling, text classification, sentiment analysis, and unstructured data analysis.

– Perform exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and hypothesis-driven investigations to generate actionable insights.

– Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise presentations, dashboards, and written outputs suitable for non-technical stakeholders.

– Build, maintain, and optimise ETL pipelines, including data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading across multiple data sources.

– Work extensively with Python for data science, analytics, and automation use cases.

– Collaborate with stakeholders to define analytical requirements, success metrics, and reporting frameworks.

– Experiment with and apply LLMs for analytical tasks, insight generation, summarisation, classification, and workflow acceleration.

– Use modern “vibe coding” and AI-assisted development tools to prototype, iterate, and accelerate analytics and data science workflows.

Required Skills and Experience

Core Requirements

– Strong practical experience in data science, with demonstrated expertise in NLP and text-based analysis techniques (e.g. topic modelling, embeddings, clustering, classification).

– Solid data analytics skillset, including data exploration, interpretation, and presentation of insights.

– Proven understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data quality considerations.

– Advanced, hands-on knowledge of Python for data science and analytics (e.g. pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, NLP libraries).

AI & Modern Tooling

– Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and applying them to real-world analytical or insight-generation tasks.

– Familiarity with AI-assisted or “vibe coding” tools (e.g. Cursor, Lovable, Replit, or similar) to accelerate development and experimentation.

Domain Experience (Desirable)

– Previous experience working in Pharma, Life Sciences, healthcare, or with agencies serving these sectors is strongly preferred.

– Understanding of data sensitivity, regulatory considerations, and analytical standards typical in Pharma or Life Sciences environments is a plus.
