About the Job you are considering:
We’re hiring an AWS Serverless Engineer to build and operate large‑scale event‑driven systems using Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, and DynamoDB. You’ll also work on document ingestion and OCR/ML/GenAI pipelines, delivering human‑in‑the‑loop validation tools with a strong focus on security, observability, and cost‑efficient cloud architecture
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role & Skills:
- Design build and operate serverless APIs and event driven services on AWS API Gateway Lambda Step Functions Event Bridge
- Integrate document ingestion OCRML extraction and generative AI pipelines normalize extracted data to a common schema
- Implement reliable storage indexing and search for documents and metadata S3 DynamoDB RDS
- Ensure security observability scalability and cost efficiency across services IAM VPCs monitoring tracing CICD
- Core AWS serverless platform
- Handson experience with AWS Lambda Nodejs or Python runtime including cold start optimization memory tuning and concurrency limits
- API Gateway REST and or HTTP APIs routing authorization request response transformations throttling and caching
- Event driven services EventBridge SNS and SQS for asynchronous pipelines retry semantics DLQs and atleastonceexactlyonce considerations
- Storage Amazon S3 for object storage lifecycle policies versioning presigned URLs and understanding of S3 performance and consistency model
- Databases DynamoDB singletable design GSIs transactions andor RDS PostgresMySQL depending on relational needs familiarity with choosing the right persistence model
- IAM security Leastprivilege IAM policies resourcebased policies KMS for encryption and secure access patterns
- Generative AI ML and document extraction
- Experience integrating large language models LLMs and generativeAI APIs eg OpenAI Anthropic AWS Bedrock or selfhosted models and designing safe costefficient prompt strategies batching and caching
- Basic familiarity with document OCR and extraction tools IE AWS Textract Tesseract and third party OCRIDP Intelligent Document Processing platforms
- Knowledge of structured information extraction approaches prompt engineering for LLMs retrievalaugmented generation RAG text embeddings and vector similarity search
- Data normalization schema mapping designing canonical schemas entity extraction schema matching and validation and transformation pipelines
- API design and eventing
