Junior Project Manager - (Technology Enablement)


  • Daily Rate: $500–$700 + super
  • Location: Sydney CBD
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract Length: Until 30th June 2026



An exciting opportunity for a Junior Project Manager to support a well‑regarded NSW State Government organisation. This role will support the delivery of a variety of technology and digital initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their project delivery capability while contributing to meaningful, user‑centred digital transformation.



About the Role


In this role, you will work closely with the Head of ICT & Digital to coordinate projects ranging from internal system improvements to externally facing digital enhancements. You will help bring structure, clarity, and momentum to projects, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and deliverables stay on track.



Key Responsibilities


  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and delivering ICT and digital projects using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
  • Maintain project documentation, including schedules, risk and issue logs, status reports, and governance artefacts.
  • Coordinate internal team members, external contractors, and vendors to support project execution.
  • Monitor progress, track actions, and help manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure they are reflected in project outcomes.
  • Support consistent project governance and contribute to improvements across tools and processes.
  • Assist with training, documentation, and change activities for new systems and digital services.



About You


You will ideally bring:


  • Experience supporting or managing technology or digital projects.
  • A solid understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, PMP, Scrum, etc.).
  • Relevant qualifications in IT, digital, or project management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder‑engagement and coordination skills.
  • The ability to prioritise competing tasks and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Exposure to the NSW State Government environment or broader public sector settings would be highly advantageous, especially experience working within established governance frameworks.
