Threod Systems is a leading Provider of Battle-Tested Military Technology Solutions. We are a world-class technology and engineering company that designs and manufactures market-leading Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Electro-Optical Systems and Aircraft Launching Systems for critical defence missions, governmental and commercial applications.
We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to design, implement, and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) tests for embedded systems. The role focuses on automated testing of embedded software on real hardware, with test development primarily in Python and close interaction with embedded firmware and hardware interfaces.
Your role:
- Derive HIL test specifications from system and software requirements
- Design and implement automated HIL tests in Python
- Automate test execution, result collection, and reporting
- Maintain and version control test code and test specifications
- Work closely with embedded software and hardware engineers to resolve problems
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proficiency in Python for test automation
- Ability to read and write embedded C and C++
- Understanding of embedded systems and microcontroller-based software
- Experience with common hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO)
- Experience writing clear test specifications and documentation
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Nice to have:
- Experience with HIL or SIL testing
- Comfortable working with development boards, debug probes, and lab equipment
- Experience writing PC UI software in C++ or C#
