Network Administrator

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client in Madison, WI that is seeking a Network Administrator. Summary: The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the network environment, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security. This role requires a proactive approach to network management, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other IT professionals and various departmental teams. Network Design and Implementation:

• Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
• Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices
• Monitor network performance and integrity
  
  

Maintenance And Troubleshooting

• Schedule updates and upgrades
• Collaborate with network architects on network optimization
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues
  
  

Security

• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures
• Monitor network security breaches and respond to security incidents
• Ensure data and network protection from internal and external threats
  
  

Performance Monitoring

• Regularly monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability
• Perform network diagnostics, analyze performance metrics, and report findings to management
  
  

User Support And Training

• Provide technical support and guidance to users with respect to network infrastructure
• Train team members on new hardware or software affecting the network
  
  

Documentation

• Maintain complete technical documentation of the network and system configuration
• Document incident resolutions and maintain logs of network maintenance activities
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Hands-on experience with networking, routing, and switching
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
• Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Demonstrated effective organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
