Our mission is to solve some of the world’s hardest problems and create transformational products and services that help industries thrive in the face of unprecedented change. From shaping the future of work with intelligent systems to building breakthrough digital platforms, our team operates across the entire innovation spectrum, from exploration to real‑world deployment. At The Dock, we experiment boldly, collaborate openly, and build the future in real time.

About The Role

We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our team at The Dock. You’ll be part of a DevOps function with the responsibility of building, maintaining and optimising cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll work across cloud services, infrastructure‑as‑code, container orchestration, automation, observability and secure-by‑design engineering practices.

While this is not a purely operations role, you bring a strong mindset for reliability, repeatability and pragmatic engineering. You will collaborate closely with other engineers, technical architects, data scientists and product managers to support multiple development teams.

You’ll be responsible for owning specific technical components of a build such as provisioning clouds environments, networking layers, code repositories and developer tools, ensuring they are consistent with the company standards.

For this role, you must have a strong appetite for continuous learning and interest in exploring technology developments in your domain of expertise. Knowledge sharing and collaboration are central to this role. You must be able to communicate your domain expertise to both technical and non-technical team members.

Responsibilities:

  • You must have a curious approach to problem solving, bringing a systems thinking mindset to the role and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested and documented code.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitLab CI).
  • Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure using IaC frameworks.
  • Deploy and operate containerised workloads.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, and health check frameworks.
  • Create reproducible environments to accelerate engineering, to maintain technical consistence and quality.
  • Embed security into the engineering lifecycle (DevSecOps): secrets management, vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and threat modelling.
  • Own secure networks access across the whole OSI layers. Including setting up VPNs, managing firewall settings and ensuring compliance with Accenture’s policy and procedures.
  • Bring clarity and pragmatism to technical decisions—highlight trade-offs, risks and identify more efficient paths where necessary.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of development processes ensuring both your own code and the code of others is maintainable and extensible.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate DevOps tasks, automate processes and improve quality and documentation where appropriate.
  • Required experience & skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or other relevant fields.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps role within agile software delivery teams.
  • Experience defining and estimating project tasks as part of sprint planning.
  • Strong experience with cloud services (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also relevant).
  • Proficiency with infrastructure‑as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM).
  • Hands‑on experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, AKS/EKS/GKE).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems and pipeline automation.
  • Experience using version control software.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and distributed systems, service‑to‑service communication, performance optimization and secure API deployments.
  • Experience resolving CVE: Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures in a timely manner.
  • Expert in monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks.
  • Ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, PowerShell.
  • Core understanding of authentication and authorisation.
  • Nice to have skills
  • Experience leading teams and owning workstreams.
  • Certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, etc.) are an advantage.
  • Exposure to GenAI infrastructure or agent-based systems (e.g. MCP, vector DBs, embedding pipelines, LLM orchestration).
  • Experience with secrets management (Vault, Azure Key Vault), identity aware development, or secure by design patterns.
  • Interest in system architecture, data structures, algorithms and modern software design patterns.
