Title: Associate IT & Security Specialist

Qstream is seeking an Associate IT and Security Specialist to deliver reliable, proactive, and security-focused support for our team. You will balance high-impact IT management with the rigorous demands of SOC 2 compliance and security administration. This role is perfect for a proactive technologist who wants to move beyond hardware troubleshooting and into the world of Information Security and AI-driven operations.
This role is central to ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while upholding robust security and SOC 2 compliance across our environments. The specialist will manage IT vendor relationships, maintain an IT Service Management (ITSM) platform, oversee core IT processes and procedures, and be a key contributor to our annual SOC 2 audit and overall security program. The specialist will also help the business stay ahead of emerging technologies, with a focus on the responsible adoption of AI tools. This is a busy, high-visibility role reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, Security, and IT Operations. It is the perfect move for a proactive technologist who wants to move beyond traditional hardware troubleshooting and take true ownership of Information Security and AI-driven business operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Compliance & Audit Support
- Act as primary controller coordinating the security and IT related aspects of the company’s annual SOC 2 audit, ensuring evidence is collected and controls are operating effectively.
- Support internal security reviews, risk assessments, and audits.
- Partner with the Security and Engineering teams to address audit findings and implement best practices.
- Work with both technical and business functions to promote awareness and best practices across the organisation to meet the goals of the security program.
Intelligent Employee IT Support
- Act as the first point of contact for all internal IT issues, troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity problems and maintain the IT Service Management (ITSM) platform.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding of staff, including provisioning and deprovisioning accounts, devices, and permissions.
- Support employees in the secure use of productivity tools, with a focus on Google Workspace and integrated SaaS applications.
- Maintain comprehensive IT documentation and support.
- Oversee IT vendor relationships, including selection, contract management, performance monitoring, and support escalation to ensure value and service quality.
Systems & Security
- Act as a key contributor to the overall security program, including maintaining and monitoring the internal security posture and strategy.
- Maintain and administer internal IT systems, ensuring consistent performance and availability.
- Manage identity and access management, ensuring SSO/2FA policies are applied consistently.
- Ensure secure device management (laptops, MDM, patching, and endpoint protection).
- Document IT processes, policies, and configurations.
- Maintain awareness of current security technologies, threats, mitigations and general security best practices.
- Support development and operation of internal security awareness communications and training programs.
- Monitor, review and respond to actual or potential security incidents, threats or flaws relevant to deployed technologies and services.
- Respond to customer security assessment requests made to the organisation.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Coordinate the security and IT related aspects of the company’s annual SOC 2 audit, ensuring evidence is collected and controls are operating effectively.

- Work with both technical and business functions to promote awareness and best practices across the organisation to meet the goals of the security program.
Innovation & AI Readiness
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, with particular focus on AI tools and their secure, responsible integration into business operations.
- Provide recommendations on AI-enabled productivity and IT tools that could improve efficiency, security and compliance.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in IT support, ideally in a SaaS or cloud-first environment.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace administration.
- Experience with identity and access management (SSO, MFA/2FA, SCIM).
- Familiarity with IT compliance frameworks, especially SOC 2.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
- Understanding of SaaS application ecosystems and integrations.
- Awareness of AI trends and ability to evaluate tools for safe, compliant use.
- Familiarity with major cloud service stacks especially AWS.
- Proactive approach to problem solving with ability to report and present risks, issues and assessments to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Positive attitude and ability to work and communicate well with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: ITIL, CompTIA Security+, Google Workspace Admin, or similar.
- Experience with MDM/endpoint management solutions.
- Prior involvement in security audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).
- Interest in or exposure to AI-powered IT tools and automation.
