Barden are currently partnering with a large technology company, to assist in their search for a Network Engineer to join them in a 6 month contract role based in Dublin.

This is a unique opportunity to work on large scale, high availability network infrastructure supporting complex, global environments.

About the Role:

• Supporting and troubleshooting large scale IP networks in a high traffic production environment.
• Working with core routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
• Hands on work with enterprise-grade Cisco router platforms.
• Diagnosing and resolving complex network issues across routing, switching, and transport layers.
• Exposure to a broad mix of technologies including DWDM, SONET, VLANs/STP, IPv4/IPv6, multicast, VPNs, and network security protocols.

About the Person:

• Strong IP networking fundamentals with production network experience.
• Hands-on experience with BGP and OSPF routing environments.
• Background working with Cisco routing platforms.
• Excellent network troubleshooting and analysis skills.
• Experience with some of the following is a plus: DWDM, SONET, VLANs/STP, TCP/IP internals, multicast, VPNs, NetFlow, DNS, HTTP.

This role is ideal for a network engineer who enjoys hands-on work with complex networking problems and operating at scale.

Our client is based in Dublin, the team is in the office five days per week.
