Baltic Amadeus client is looking for an experienced Product Owner to join the team under a B2B (business-to-business) contract and to lead greenfield payment initiatives across European and UK payment schemes. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, security, compliance, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across payment systems and enterprise platforms. You will define the product vision, manage the product backlog, and translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear deliverables for cross-functional Agile teams.

You will define the product vision, manage the product backlog, and translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear deliverables for cross-functional Agile teams.
What You Will Do
- Own product vision, roadmap, and backlog for payment systems
- Lead greenfield payment projects end-to-end
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into user stories and specs
- Work with payment schemes and rails, including:
- SEPA SCT, SCT Inst, SDD (ISO 20022)
- SWIFT (MT & MX, ISO 20022 migration)
- TARGET2 (T2), TIPS
- UK Pay.UK rails: FPS, BACS, CHAPS
- Drive Open Banking initiatives (UK & EU PSD2: AIS, PIS, PISP)
- Support OLO scheme participation and alternative payment integrations (e.g. PayPal, BankingCircle)
- Perform functional and gap analysis; model payment flows and ISO 20022 messages
- Define test scenarios and support functional, security, and compliance testing
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies and manage delivery with cross-functional teams
- Experience as a Product Owner or Senior BA in FinTech / Payments
- Strong hands-on knowledge of payment systems and flows
- Understanding of ISO 20022 and XML-based messaging
- Experience with APIs (REST, SOAP, webhooks)
- Knowledge of PSD2, GDPR, PCI-DSS, AML
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Instant payments or real-time settlement experience and exposure to Central bank or clearing system would be considered as an advantage
- Hourly rate: €35–50. If you have different expectations, please let us know — we are open to discussing compensation based on your skills and experience.
