Senior / Staff Software Engineer – Infrastructure

A leading technology company in robotics and advanced 3D systems is seeking a Senior/Staff Infrastructure Engineer to help build and scale the internal platforms that power all software development across the organisation. This is a hands‑on role with the opportunity to influence technical direction and potentially step into team leadership as the team grows.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and scale CI/CD systems and internal infrastructure
• Improve build pipelines (GitHub Actions, Docker, self‑hosted runners)
• Enhance automation, developer tools, and workflows
• Monitor and optimise build/test systems
• Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams

Required Skills

• Strong experience with CI/CD or infrastructure strategy
• Advanced Python and shell scripting (C/C++ a plus)
• Expertise in Docker and modern CI systems
• Deep knowledge of DevOps tooling and optimising pipelines
• Passion for developer enablement and automation
• Experience scaling and monitoring build/test infrastructure

Nice to Have

• C++ or embedded build systems (Make, CMake, Meson)
• Large-scale build systems (Bazel, Pants, Buck2)
• IaC/orchestration (Terraform, Kubernetes, Ansible, Nomad)
• Virtualisation/cluster platforms or cloud (Proxmox, Azure)
• Windows virtualisation on Linux (Vagrant)
