Job Overview
The Business Finance Manager oversees the organization's financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, taxation, and reporting. They ensure accurate financial records, implement internal controls, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. This role drives process improvements, manages budgets and forecasts, and provides strategic insights through financial analysis. The manager supports cross-functional collaboration, translates financial data for non-finance stakeholders, and ensures optimal cash flow and working capital management. They also oversee risk mitigation and support audit and compliance efforts.
Specific Duties/Responsibilities
Accounting Operation
- Manage general ledger accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax functions.
- Ensure proper recording of financial transactions.
- Oversee correctness of data and reports generated from the system.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting policies.
- Supervise accounting teams.
- Streamline financial processes and systems.
- Identify bottlenecks, redundancies, or areas prone to error and find solution to improve the process.
- Ensure all process changes support audit trails and compliance standards.
- Ensure the finance function supports broader business goals efficiently.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies when necessary.
- Provide historical data and trends for better insights on forecast.
- Manage annual/quarterly budgets and rolling forecasts.
- Analyse trends, variances, and business drivers to provide actionable insights.
- Oversee cash flow, banking relationships and liquidity planning.
- Manage working capital and ensure optimal use of financial resources.
- Credit Controllership to manage collection and risk assessment on accounts.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, HR, and other departments to align financial targets.
- Translate financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- Support financial aspects of cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Identify financial and operational risks; recommend and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure risk awareness across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities, especially under pressure or tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Advance Knowledge in Microsoft excel and ERP systems expertise.
- 7-8 years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or business finance.
- Prior experience in Financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting is essential.
- CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA or equivalent certified (preferred, not required).
