Location: North-Holland | Full-time


Unity Partners is retained by an OEM to recruit a Senior Project Manager. The company is a Dutch OEM specialized in custom engineering solutions.


The Role

The Senior Project Manager / Project Director will manage international projects all over the world, with an average size of around €5M. These are complex, bespoke engineering projects that span the entire lifecycle from design and engineering through manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning.


This is a senior position with a direct reporting line to the CEO and close collaboration with the CTO, giving the role significant visibility and influence within the organisation. The Senior Project Manager will also lead, coach, and develop a team of three junior project managers, ensuring structure, guidance, and best practices across the department. Setup EPC projects will be a big part of your responsibility. At first the role will be at a Senior PM level but you will soon grow into a Project Director role as the company continues to grow and land big projects.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver international projects (average size €5M) across different regions of the world.
  • Manage the full lifecycle, including design, engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and commissioning.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and resources across multiple projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders worldwide.
  • Ensure contract execution and compliance with project terms.
  • Act as main point of contact for international clients, suppliers, and partners.
  • Coach and mentor three junior project managers, supporting their professional growth.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely across cultures and organisational levels.
  • Maintain a hands-on, problem-solving approach and actively contribute as a team player.
  • Travel internationally when required (approx. 3 weeks per year).


Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as Project Manager in OEM, engineering, or complex manufacturing.
  • Experience with EPC projects is a must.
  • Proven track record managing international, multidisciplinary projects through to commissioning.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to balance multiple interests.
  • Excellent communicator, clear and concise, confident with international stakeholders.
  • High cultural awareness and experience working across different countries and cultures.
  • Resilient, structured, and proactive, with strong leadership qualities.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic problem solver and natural team player.
  • Experience leading and coaching junior colleagues, ideally in a direct supervisory role.
  • PMP or Prince2 certification is highly preferred.
