The Opportunity

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an enthusiastic Regional Vice President (RVP) of Safety and Security to join our Regional Operations and Global Security Department where you’ll join a team of professionals geographically dispersed within the EAME region who love what they do. 

In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Regional Operations and Global Security leaders and coordinating broadly with your counterparts in HR, IT, COMMS, Legal, Engineering, Design and others where you’ll be instrumental in continuing to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company.

The role may be based in Zurich, Paris, or London , depending on the candidate’s location and work authorization.

The Role

In this role, you will be the Safety & Security leader for the EAME Region, managing all safety and security programs and implementing preventative actions to protect the Hyatt brand, guests, staff, and assets from a range of safety and security risks and threats (particularly criminality, terrorism, insider threats, human exploitation and political violence).

This role will have direct reporting to the Regional SVP Legal, and indirect supervision and guidance from Hyatt’s Chief Security Officer (CSO). This role will supervise any assigned Regional Security Directors/Managers within the EAME region and indirectly supervise regional specialists and property level security directors and managers. This role will provide expert investigative, intelligence and physical security support to their respective region’s Operations leadership and hotel operations and assist in the continuous improvement and development of security and health & safety programs and initiatives.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Provide supervision, direction, leadership and mentorship to multiple geographically dispersed Regional Security Directors with specific area responsibilities.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice regarding all safety & security issues to Regional Operations Leadership
  • Routinely conduct audits and assessments of individual hotel properties within your assigned region identifying vulnerabilities and providing risk mitigation recommendations and actions
  • Lead in the response to critical life safety events and incidents
  • Maintain awareness of global risk environment with potential impact to Hyatt operations which may include review of vendor reporting, independent research and close coordination with Hyatt’s Global Security and Cyber Security Analytical teams
  • Prepare regular reports and provide routine verbal briefings regarding the Safety & Security of Hyatt’s guests, colleagues, properties and brand reputation to various internal leadership and control committees and working groups.

Qualifications

Experience and Education Required: 

  • 12+ years of experience in same field, industry, or other equivalent business/ function role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business , Social Science, Criminology, Criminal Justice or equivalent (master’s degree preferred) or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Additional Preferred:  

  • Professional Certifications (CPP, PCI) in the global security management field
  • International experience, travel, work and residence
  • Spanish Language Proficiency
  • Microsoft Office products
  • 25-40% travel both domestic and international
