At Ledgertech, we’re building next-generation solutions that digitalize and automate insurance, making protection seamless and scalable. We’re a company that empowers team members to do their best work and have a big impact on the products, while supporting each other in a collaborative environment. We value high-quality work, new ideas, trusting collaboration, passion, and accountability.
This role exists at the exact boundary between business intent and engineering reality - you turn ambiguous insurance requirements into precise, buildable technical strategies, producing the user stories, domain model changes, and architecture decisions that give our engineering team a clear foundation to build on.
We're in search of a Solution Architect, an independent thinker willing to refine customer requirements into viable system strategies. We're looking for someone who thrives in complex systems, someone who can turn complex business requirements into clear, elegant technical solution strategies. If you enjoy being the person who connects the "what" to the "how," this role was written for you.
The team in Romania is remote-first, so you can work fully remote, but we can also offer a physical workplace in Bucharest, if you need or prefer a traditional office space that is not at home.
What you bring:
- Engineering foundation: You have a strong background in building complex systems. While you won't be in the IDE daily, you can read Go, Kotlin, Python or JavaScript and "speak the language" of senior engineers to understand their constraints and technical feedback.
- "Detective" mindset: You are skilled at independent discovery. You can dive into existing system logic flows to build a mental model of how a requirement affects the current state—without needing a guided tour from the dev team.
- Domain-language fluency: You have a high aptitude for learning complex business domains (Insurance). Prior experience in insurance, fintech, or another regulated industry is an advantage. You enjoy the process of taking ambiguous, non-technical business rules and refining them into structured, logical technical strategies.
- Collaborative architecture: You view architecture as a conversation, not a decree. You work alongside senior developers to co-create solutions, ensuring your strategies are technically viable and that the team feels ownership over the final implementation.
- Strategic deconstruction: You excel at breaking down "big picture" business needs into logical components. You provide the high-level design and "why" behind decisions, giving senior devs a clear, stable framework to build within.
- Conflict resolution through logic: When business requirements clash with technical reality, you are the one to navigate that tension, finding the pragmatic middle ground that protects the system's integrity while meeting business goals.
- Curiosity, drive, and clarity: you take initiative, work hard, stay humble enough to give and receive feedback, and communicate your ideas fluently in English, both in writing and conversation.
What you’ll do:
- Independently dive into existing systems to map the impact of new requirements. No hand-holding needed.
- Translate complex insurance rules into structured technical designs, producing concrete artifacts such as user stories with acceptance criteria, domain model changes, API contracts, and architecture decision records (ADRs).
- Co-create architecture alongside senior developers, ensuring team ownership and real-world feasibility.
- Decompose high-level business goals into scalable components with well-reasoned "why" documentation.
- Navigate business-tech conflicts pragmatically, protecting system integrity while meeting business needs.
- Be the consistent bridge between our business stakeholders and our engineering team, operating across the full lifecycle from requirement intake to implementation handoff.
Why you’ll love working here:
- Remote-first flexibility: work from anywhere in Romania, or from our Bucharest office if you prefer.
- Real ownership: your decisions shape products that reach real customers at scale.
- Collaborative culture: high standards, honest feedback, and people who genuinely support each other.
- Hard problems: the kind of architectural challenges that actually stretch your thinking.
Interview Process
At Ledgertech, we respect your time and energy, therefore we keep things simple. No brain teasers, no trick questions.
There are 4 steps of the interview process:
- Application Review: We’ll screen your application within one week and we'll contact you if you are selected for the next step.
- Technical + Team Interview (60–90 min): Meet two team members to discuss your technical skills and experience, but also about teamwork, delivery, and communication.
- Leadership Chat (30 min): A conversation with our Managing Director.
- Offer: If it’s a match, we’ll send a written offer.
