AI Solutions Lead - Financial Services

A well-established and highly respected financial services organisation is looking for an AI Solutions Lead to define and drive its artificial intelligence strategy.

This role will take ownership of how those capabilities evolve - identifying opportunities, designing solutions, and leading the development of intelligent systems that deliver real value to the business.

The Role:

As the AI Solutions Lead, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the organisation’s AI vision.

You will work closely with technology, data, and business stakeholders to identify where AI can have the greatest impact - and then design and implement solutions to support those opportunities.

The role is intentionally broad and can suit candidates coming from data science, machine learning engineering, or AI software engineering backgrounds.

Responsibilities include:

• Defining and owning the organisation’s AI strategy and roadmap
• Identifying high-value AI and automation opportunities across the business
• Designing and developing AI-driven solutions, from early prototypes through to production systems
• Building and deploying machine learning models, AI services, or intelligent applications
• Exploring and implementing Generative AI and LLM-based solutions where appropriate
• Working with data and engineering teams to integrate AI into existing data platforms and applications
• Establishing best practices for ML development, experimentation, and deployment
• Acting as the organisation’s internal AI expert, advising leadership on emerging technologies and opportunities
• Helping build a culture of data-driven decision making and AI adoption

Because of the organisation’s size and structure, this role offers a high degree of ownership and autonomy. You will play a key role in shaping how AI evolves within the business.

What They’re Looking For

The company is open to candidates from a variety of AI-related backgrounds, including Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, or AI/Software Engineering, as long as you bring both strong technical capability and the ability to translate AI into real business value.

You may have experience with:

• Machine learning and applied AI
• Developing and deploying ML models or AI-powered systems
• Building AI-driven applications or services
• Working with cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Python and modern ML / AI frameworks
• Data platforms, APIs, and scalable systems
• Generative AI, LLMs, or AI copilots
• MLOps or model deployment workflows

Equally important is the ability to:

• Understand business problems and translate them into technical AI solutions
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Take ownership of projects and drive initiatives forward

Experience within financial services or other regulated industries is beneficial but not required.
