What is the opportunity?
The T&O Branch Technology team is searching for a Senior Scrum Master to lead our agile squads in the Service product domain space. You’ll be joining a diverse and inclusive agile organization that showcases the collective power of teamwork every single day. From delivering enhancements, to executing on BAU deliverables, to driving business value and efficiency within RBC, this role will help bring to life capabilities which allow advisors to deliver the best in-class customer experience. This a great opportunity for a Scrum Master who is looking for advancing their agile skills and gain exposure to scaled agile practices.
What will you do?
- Promote and drive adoption of Agile Methodologies and Agile Mindset (Drive Business Value, Deliver in Iterations, Collaboration)
- Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through proactive management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges
- Navigate and identify shared technology services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives. Facilitate discussion leading to collective decision-making, goal setting and conflict resolution within the team.
- Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues. Facilitate and engage in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence.
- Work in a Scaled Agile technology portfolio, leading multiple teams and collaborating with other Scrum Masters and squads to work collectively and deliver capabilities within the Branch Technology domain
- Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes; Report team progress and accomplishment up and across; Facilitate status updates (including project financials and running concurrent Agile projects under fast-paced work environment), product demos and retrospectives
- In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide
Must-have
- 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master – where Scrum principles, practices and theory were diligently applied
- Certified Scrum Master/Agile Practitioner
- 7+ years of experience in software development project/program delivery within an Agile environment (medium-to-large scale initiatives), using influence to facilitate to outcomes
- Ability to listen, communicate clearly and concisely with confidence, and demonstrate ability to influence others
- Ability to coach teams and individuals with regards to their Agile practices, and the ability to advise a group of individuals around how to best organize themselves to achieve a goal
- Ability to apply well documented Agile techniques (User Stories, Burndown techniques, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous testing, etc.)
- Able to effectively prioritize own workload and focus across many streams of work
- Banking experience (a strong plus)
- SAFe and/or Scaled Agile experience is an asset
