Hiring: Senior & Lead Backend Java21 Engineers – API Focus – Sydney

Are you a backend engineer in Sydney with strong Java 21 skills, solid computer science fundamentals, and experience building scalable APIs?

tekFinder have a number of exciting backend engineering roles in the fin-services space for a high-impact programme of work with complex engineering challenges.

Working here, you’ll get the opportunity to design and build high-performance APIs using modern reactive Java, ensuring scalability and reliability for critical financial services systems.

You’ll collaborate closely with other Java engineering teams, contributing to architecture and system design decisions.

Tech Stack: Java 21, Spring Boot, REST/GraphQL APIs, GCP, Kafka, Spanner, BigQuery, Elasticsearch — (you don’t need to know everything, but experience with API design and distributed systems is key).

Experience with the specific stack isn’t mandatory; what matters is your approach to system design, problem-solving, and passion for building robust backend services.

We have senior and lead/principal level roles, and we’d even consider mid-level engineers if you’re highly capable and have strong engineering fundamentals.

Salary: $175k - $200k + super + bonus

Contract: ~$1150/day including super for 12 months
