About The Role
As an IT Operations Technician, you will join a skilled and service-oriented IT team responsible for stable, secure, and efficient IT operations.
You will combine hands-on end-user support with operational responsibility for IT systems supporting our offshore activities.
Working closely with colleagues, vendors, and offshore teams, you will contribute to system maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and reliable IT delivery across locations. The role also includes support for vessel IT mobilization, with occasional travel when required.
Key responsibilities
End User Support
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to users (on-site and remote)
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Manage user accounts, devices, and access rights (e.g., Active Directory / Entra ID)
- Support workplace services including laptops, mobile devices, printers, collaboration tools, and enterprise applications
- Handle incidents, service requests, and problem resolution according to established processes
- Deliver clear communication and ensure an excellent user experience
- Support and monitor IT systems and infrastructure used in offshore operations
- Assist with deployment of new offshore infrastructure
- Ensure availability and reliability of networks, servers, and critical applications
- Perform system maintenance, patching, and operational tasks
- Support backup, recovery, and basic cybersecurity routines
- Collaborate with offshore personnel, vendors, and internal IT teams
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
- Maintain documentation, procedures, and operational guidelines
- Technical education in IT, electronics, or a related field
- University degree in ICT or similar (preferred)
- 3–5 years of relevant experience within IT operations, infrastructure support, or field-based technical work
- Experience with user administration and identity management (e.g., Active Directory / Entra ID)
- Solid understanding of Windows environments, hardware, networks, and standard workplace technologies
- Fluent in Norwegian or Swedish, and English
You are structured, service-minded, and comfortable working independently. You take ownership of issues and enjoy solving problems in a practical and efficient way.
