To spearhead the continued growth, we’re looking for an enthusiastic, fast-learning, and dynamic full-stack PHP software developer who will help us implement Raketech’s vision.

The Role:

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will own the technical direction of the AffiliationCloud platform within a cloud-based microservice architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, and high engineering standards. You will lead a team of six developers, ensuring engineering best practices are consistently applied across services and applications using tools like Laravel for backend services and Vue.js for frontend development.  

A key part of this role is driving the transition to an AI-driven development mindset, embedding AI tools and practices into daily workflows to boost development speed, code quality, and team productivity. 

You will work closely with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to turn business requirements into well-architected solutions. 

As a Lead Software Engineer, you are expected to:

• Leading and developing a high-performing engineering team: Providing coaching, mentorship, and clear expectations to support career growth, engagement, and retention while fostering a collaborative, psychologically safe team culture. 
• Lead the architecture and development of backend services using Laravel;
• Drive frontend development and best practices using Vue.js;
• Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, and code reviews; 
• Establish guidelines and best practices for responsible and effective use of AI in the development lifecycle; 
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering tasks using AI and tooling;
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code while setting technical standards, leveraging AI-assisted tools to improve code quality, automate repetitive tasks, and accelerate development; 
• Review code, mentor developers, and provide clear technical guidance; 
• Design and optimize APIs, database structures, and background jobs; 
• Ensure application performance, security, and scalability; 
• Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and monitoring; 
• Identify technical debt and define practical plans to address;
• Perform impact assessment of features and defects with the Product Team;
• Break down product requirements into clear technical tasks and delivery milestones.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of software engineering and engineering management experience at scale; 
• Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and distributed systems; 
• 5+ years of software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Laravel (PHP) and solid experience building modern frontends with Vue.js; 
• Practical experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., AI code assistants, automated test generation, AI-supported code reviews);
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, PostgreSQL, and caching systems (e.g., Redis); 
• Experience designing scalable architectures and handling performance optimization; 
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based deployments; 
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical decision-making; 
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance technical quality with business needs;
• English - Upper-intermediate.
