Data Engineering Intern to support the development of an end-to-end (E2E) testing environment for our data platform built on AWS and Databricks. The role offers hands-on experience with modern data engineering technologies and cloud-based data processing.
The intern will work under the guidance of an experienced technical mentor and collaborate with data engineers responsible for building and maintaining the platform.
The internship will focus on building and supporting an end-to-end testing environment that validates the full pipeline from data ingestion to analytics. A key part of the work will involve verifying the correctness of data stored in the analytics layer and ingestion execution.
Responsibilities:
- support the setup and configuration of an E2E testing environment for data pipelines
- develop Python scripts to generate test data and validate results
- verify database and table state in Databricks after pipeline execution
- write SQL queries to validate data correctness and completeness
- assist in testing integrations between AWS ingestion services and the Databricks analytics layer
- prepare test datasets and reproducible test scenarios
- document environment setup, validation procedures, and expected data states.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data.
- Basic programming skills in Python.
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with Git.
- Basic understanding of data processing / ETL concepts.
- Willingness to learn cloud and data engineering technologies.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Familiarity with Databricks or Apache Spark.
- Basic understanding of data warehouse or lakehouse concepts.
