Network Security Engineer (WAF Focus)

Role Overview

This position primarily focuses on designing, managing, and optimizing TOM Bank’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) infrastructure, ensuring robust Layer 7 security for high‑traffic digital banking services. The role also covers network security operations, including NGFW, DDoS protection, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and secure data center designs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize enterprise WAF policies and security controls
• Develop and maintain WAF rule sets, bot mitigation, and API security configurations
• Perform false‑positive analysis and exception management in collaboration with application teams
• Support and manage NGFW, IDS/IPS, and DDoS protection systems
• Conduct log analysis, incident response, and forensic investigations
• Manage L4/L7 Load Balancers, GSLB, and DNS infrastructures
• Ensure high availability and redundancy across cloud and on‑premise environments
• Maintain monitoring, automation, and backup mechanisms for security devices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in Network / Network Security Engineering
• Hands‑on experience with WAF platforms (e.g., F5 ASM/Advanced WAF, Cloudflare WAF, Imperva)
• Strong understanding of Layer 7 attack vectors (SQLi, XSS, RCE, LFI/RFI, API abuse)
• Experience with NGFW, IDS/IPS, DDoS mitigation, and traffic management
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and incident response skills
