The Forward Deployed Engineer is responsible for:

  • Rapidly deploying Palantir Foundry use cases into live business environments
  • Working shoulder-to-shoulder with end users to solve real operational problems
  • Building scalable, reusable data pipelines, applications, and decision workflows
  • Ensuring Foundry delivers measurable business impact, not just dashboards

The role is outcome-driven, execution-heavy, and suited for engineers who thrive in ambiguous, high-impact environments.

Roles, Responsibilities, Duties

1. Forward Deployment & Use-Case Delivery

  • Embed with Modon business units to understand workflows, pain points, and decision processes.
  • Design and deliver end-to-end Foundry use cases, from raw data ingestion to operational applications.
  • Rapidly prototype, iterate, and deploy solutions directly into production environments.
  • Own use cases post-deployment, ensuring adoption, performance, and continuous improvement.

2. Palantir Foundry Engineering

  • Build and maintain Foundry pipelines, transforms, and data models.
  • Develop Foundry applications, operational workflows, and decision layers.
  • Implement access controls, lineage, and data governance within Foundry.
  • Integrate Foundry with enterprise systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, IoT, GIS, finance, property systems).

3. Real Estate & Asset Use Cases

  • Deliver Foundry solutions across:
  • Development planning and project controls
  • Asset performance and operations monitoring
  • Sales pipelines and inventory management
  • Retail and tenant performance analytics
  • Customer and loyalty analytics
  • Translate complex datasets into actionable insights and operational tools for non-technical users.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement

  • Act as a trusted technical partner to business users and product owners.
  • Translate business questions into clear technical designs and executable workflows.
  • Enable end users through training, documentation, and hands-on support.
  • Work closely with central data, AI, and platform teams to align standards and best practices.

5. Engineering Excellence & Scale

  • Ensure solutions are robust, reusable, and scalable, not one-off builds.
  • Apply software engineering best practices (versioning, testing, modular design).
  • Contribute to Foundry patterns, accelerators, and internal playbooks.
  • Support platform evolution and performance optimisation.

Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM discipline is required.

Experience and Competencies:

Experience

  • 8-12 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience working with Palantir Foundry in production environments (strongly preferred).
  • Experience delivering solutions in complex enterprise or government environments.
  • Exposure to real estate, infrastructure, logistics, utilities, or asset-heavy industries is a strong advantage.

Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Foundry pipelines, transforms, and ontology modelling
  • Solid programming skills in Python and/or SQL.
  • Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and distributed data platforms.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and access control principles.
  • Familiarity with GDPR-aligned data models and governance frameworks
