Job Overview
The role of Project Engineer involves studying, understanding, and executing upon detailed project requirements and specifications, while reviewing budgets and maintaining cost controls. The role is challenging and offers significant potential for innovation and growth. The individual should have strong technical, organizational and communication skills related to Project Management. Specific knowledge of pump specifications, skid design, piping systems, heat exchangers, filtration, and material selection under varying process chemistry is desired.
Specific Duties/responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned projects.
- Prepare & determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
- Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
- Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, schedule changes, and recommending actions.
- Ensure all engineering documents and deliverables are prepared accurately and as per required schedule.
- Review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions.
- Determine project specifications by studying system design, customer requirements, and performance standards.
- Work with outside vendors and purchasing to select and establish equipment component specifications, material take-offs, requisitions, close follow-up & expediting deliveries and vendor orders.
- Support engineering, project management and deployment groups to identify and resolve issues.
- Cooperate and communicate with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager and collaborate with various discipline Engineers & project team members to create more efficient project methods and ensure project timelines are met.
- Interact with clients, interpret their needs and requirements, and translate them into an actionable plan.
- Respond to any client complaints, concerns or requests throughout the project.
- Hold regular meetings & prepare MOM to ensure that everything is going according to time and budget restrictions.
- Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, summarizing information & trends and recommending actions.
- Maintain project database and back up data.
- Ensuring the project’s compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
- Making sure that all health, safety, contractual and legal requirements are being met throughout the process.
- Assure that all deadlines are being met.
- Support Gradiant Subsidiaries regionally and across the globe as required.
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
- Prepare quotations for CFRO membrane based on client specific requirement using standard templates.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure the schedule aligns with client expectations.
- Once CFRO membrane production is complete, work with the client's logistics team to arrange delivery.
- Collaborate with both technical and commercial teams throughout all phases of the production to ensure smooth execution.
- Supporting R&D team to expedite their projects activities to complete within schedule.
- Provide necessary support in procurement and logistics activities to R&D projects and lab operation.
- Closely works with authorities, consultant and sub-contractor to obtain the lab approval.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Project Management.
- Excellent project management and supervision skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of EPC projects and design/manufacturing company.
- Reliance on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Mechanical Project Engineer with minimum 4 years experience in water and wastewater treatment projects.
