My client are a leading Bank based in Oman undergoing a significant change programme to transform the bank’s offering from a digital perspective. This will take in both the front end customer experience and back office capability to drive a more effective all-round offering. Alongside this, there are a number of other cross functional projects ongoing. As such, they are looking to bring in a Head of Transformation to oversee a wide range of initiatives across the bank.


The Head of Transformation is a strategic leadership role responsible for architecting and executing enterprise-wide transformation initiatives that drive operational excellence, digital innovation, and business model optimization.


Key responsibilities:


Enterprise Transformation Strategy & Execution

  • Develop, refine, and oversee the execution of the bank’s transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Lead cross-functional transformation programs, integrating digital innovation, process re-engineering, and operational excellence to enhance customer experience and cost efficiency.
  • Establish and institutionalize transformation frameworks, methodologies, and governance models to ensure program consistency, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Drive synergies across different business units, so that transformation delivers enterprise-wide value.


Digitalization & Process Optimization

  • Spearhead the adoption and integration of emerging technologies such as AI, RPA, blockchain, and cloud solutions to enhance operational resilience and digital capabilities.
  • Oversee large-scale process optimization efforts, leveraging data analytics, automation, and Lean Six Sigma principles to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance service delivery.
  • Partner with IT, Digital Banking, and Operations to implement omnichannel customer experiences that enhance engagement and drive market differentiation.
  • Lead platform modernization efforts, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to next-generation digital infrastructure.


Risk Management & Compliance

  • Establish robust governance structures to monitor, measure, and report transformation outcomes.
  • Assess and mitigate transformation-related risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, cybersecurity requirements, and operational resilience frameworks.
  • Develop and enforce policies that promote risk-aware transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with the bank’s overall risk appetite and control mechanisms.


Change Management & Cultural Transformation

  • Embed a transformation-driven mindset across all levels of the organization
  • Develop comprehensive change management frameworks to facilitate smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and operational models.
  • Engage stakeholders including C-suite executives, middle management, and frontline employees


Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Partnerships

  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, technology partners, regulatory bodies, and external consultants to ensure seamless transformation execution.
  • Negotiate and manage vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with the bank’s technology strategy and transformation goals.
  • Represent the bank in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and innovation networks to stay ahead of evolving market trends and best practices.


For this position, we are specifically looking for candidates with:

  • Proven transformation leadership within GCC banks
  • Experience in mid to large size banking institutions
  • Strong banking domain expertise across multiple functions (operations, digital, risk, technology, etc.)
  • Demonstrated leadership of large-scale enterprise transformation programs
  • Hands-on delivery experience, not purely PMO or governance roles
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience with executive leadership in banking environments


Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in the field of business administration, management, or engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Financial services/ banking domain & 5 years in transformation
