About APD Global

At APD, we deliver engineering and design solutions to power utilities, electricity generation developers, and the mining and resources sectors across Australia and New Zealand. Our team of over 400 professionals operates from 15 offices throughout the APAC region.

The Role

We have a small development team that builds and maintains internal platforms and automation tools for the business. The work is varied, covering enterprise apps, data pipelines, and process automation. The tech is modern. We're growing the team and looking for another developer to build with us.

This is a mid-level role. You won't be supervised line-by-line, but you will be guided and led by the team lead. You need to be comfortable working across the full stack, picking up tasks, asking the right questions, and delivering working software.

What You'll Work On

• Internal applications used daily across the business
• Building new features and modules from requirements through to production
• Writing and maintaining tests to keep what we ship reliable
• Improving and extending systems already in production

Technologies We Use

• Modern JavaScript framework (Vue or React)
• TypeScript
• Python
• SQL
• Azure cloud services
• Git

You don't need experience in all of these. But you should be comfortable working across the full stack and picking up what you don't already know.

What We're Looking For

• Professional development experience with modern technologies
• Comfortable across the stack, from UI to API to database
• Experience with a modern JavaScript framework and TypeScript
• Experience with Python or a similar backend language
• Familiarity with relational databases
• Interest in automation and building tools that remove manual work
• Writes clean, testable code without being told to
• Genuinely curious, wants to understand why, not just what

• Someone who needs a detailed spec for every task
• Pure backend or pure frontend only, you need to be willing to cross the line
• Someone waiting to be told what to do next

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in a technology-related field or equivalent experience
• Successful candidates will be required to complete a medical assessment and provide a police clearance
