Technical Lead / Senior Developer

Greenfield Opportunity to Own and Build the Technology Platform

We're working with a high profile Australian success story who are looking for a Technical Lead / Lead Developer who wants to take ownership of a company’s technology platforms and help them bring development fully in-house.

Several of the company’s core systems are currently managed by external vendors. The objective of this role is to bring control of these platforms internally, reduce reliance on third parties, and lead the ongoing development and evolution of the company’s digital ecosystem.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys building and improving systems rather than simply maintaining them. You will take ownership of existing platforms, modernise where needed, and help shape the future technology architecture of the business.

You will work closely with leadership and have the opportunity to influence technical direction, introduce best practices, and potentially build out a small internal development capability over time.

What you will be doing:

• Take ownership of the company’s digital platforms and development roadmap

• Bring externally managed systems and applications in-house

• Lead the development and ongoing improvement of web and application platforms

• Review and improve the current architecture, integrations and infrastructure

• Establish best practices across development, CI/CD, deployment and monitoring

• Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver new features and improvements

• Contribute hands-on to development while providing technical leadership

Skills and Experience

We are looking for a strong full stack engineer with cloud experience who is comfortable owning, building and improving complex systems.

Key experience you will bring:

• Strong experience developing modern web applications

• Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as VueJS, React or similar

• Backend development experience with PHP (Laravel) or similar backend frameworks

• Experience building and integrating REST or XML APIs

• Experience working with AWS cloud infrastructure

• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL

• Experience with modern development practices including Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines

Nice to have:

• Experience with messaging or telephony APIs such as Twilio

• Experience supporting mobile applications or mobile APIs

• Exposure to AI integrations or voice automation platforms
