Capaciteam is partnering with an innovative and fast-growing technology company to hire a Head of Software Engineering to lead and scale their engineering organisation.

Our client is building a sophisticated SaaS platform designed to bring greater visibility, coordination, and intelligence to complex operational environments. Their product connects long-term planning with real-time execution, enabling organisations to operate more efficiently and make better decisions in fast-moving, high-stakes settings.

With strong product traction and an ambitious roadmap ahead, the company is entering an exciting growth phase and is looking for a senior engineering leader to help shape the next stage of its technology platform and team.

As Head of Software Engineering, you will take ownership of the engineering function and lead the continued development of a modern cloud-native SaaS platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for guiding engineering teams, shaping the technology roadmap, and ensuring the platform delivers reliability, scalability, and performance as the business grows.

You will work closely with product and leadership teams to translate strategic goals into a clear and executable engineering plan while maintaining a strong focus on engineering quality and team culture.

The role is based in Dublin on a hybrid basis.

The engineering team works across a modern full-stack cloud architecture including:

• Frontend: Angular
• Backend: Node.js
• Database: PostgreSQL (Amazon Aurora)
• Infrastructure: AWS

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Own and evolve the company’s technology roadmap, translating product strategy into a clear and prioritised engineering plan.
• Improve engineering delivery through modern practices including automation, shorter release cycles, and performance measurement.
• Ensure infrastructure and platform architecture are secure, scalable, and resilient.
• Implement engineering governance frameworks covering security, compliance, and emerging technologies such as AI.
• Establish effective processes that balance operational delivery with long-term strategic development.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on engineering progress, KPIs, risks, and key technical decisions.
• Evaluate and evolve the engineering organisation structure to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Our client is seeking an experienced engineering leader who combines strong technical credibility with proven team leadership.

You will likely bring:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• A track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams in SaaS or technology environments.
• Strong technical background in backend systems, cloud architecture, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience managing production systems and driving operational excellence.
• The ability to balance feature delivery with performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
