Role: Head of ICT

Reporting to: Chief Financial and Operations Officer

Contract: Permanent

Location: Dublin 1

Overview

A public sector financial services organisation is seeking a Head of ICT to lead its technology function. The role is responsible for developing and delivering the organisation’s ICT strategy to support innovation, operational efficiency, and delivery of strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the organisation’s ICT strategy aligned with business goals.
• Lead the evolution of ICT as a proactive, value-adding function.
• Drive organisation-wide digital transformation initiatives.
• Assess and implement emerging technologies such as AI, automation, cloud, and cybersecurity solutions.
• Work closely with senior leadership, governance committees, and programme boards.
• Provide strategic technology input to organisational decision-making.
• Oversee delivery of ICT projects and services to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
• Maintain secure and resilient ICT infrastructure and data management practices.
• Ensure strong ICT governance, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks.
• Promote risk awareness and quality standards within the ICT function.
• Manage ICT budgets, resources, and technology investment planning.

Skills & Experience

• Senior leadership experience in ICT or technology strategy roles.
• Track record of leading digital transformation and enterprise technology initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data governance, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at executive level.
• Experience in regulated or public sector environments is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s desirable).
• Relevant professional or technology certifications are advantageous.
