Your Mission:

We are looking for a motivated and curious Junior Machine Learning Engineer based in our HQ in Milan! In this role, you will operate at the intersection of data engineering and machine learning, contributing to the design of scalable data pipelines, the development and evolution of ML models, and their deployment into production environments. You will collaborate closely with the Data Engineering, Data Science and Business teams to translate business needs into actionable, high‑impact solutions. Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design and maintenance of reliable, scalable data pipelines and architectures supporting analytics and ML use cases.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation across the entire pipeline.
• Support the development, training and continuous improvement of machine learning models.
• Collaborate on feature engineering, data preparation, experimentation and evaluation.
• Deploy ML models into production environments, ensuring stability, monitoring and traceability.
• Maintain dashboards, metrics and performance monitoring tools to ensure long-term model health.
• Work with cross functional teams to understand business challenges and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Deliver insights and model outputs in a clear, actionable way for business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to leverage machine learning and automation to improve processes and decision making.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, models or integrations.
• Contribute to documentation, best practices and shared knowledge.
• Stay updated on industry trends in ML, AI and data engineering, bringing new ideas to the team.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
• 1+ year of experience in data engineering, machine learning or related areas.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL; familiarity with ML libraries (e.g., scikit learn).
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP); Databricks is a plus.
• Basic understanding of predictive models/time series.
• Passion for ML, Generative AI, and emerging technologies.
• Analytical mindset, problem solving attitude and attention to detail.
• Clear communicator, able to partner with both technical and business teams.
• Curious, proactive and comfortable in dynamic, fast paced environments.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
• Availability for occasional business travel.
