About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer with strong PHP expertise to contribute to the modernization of an insurance platform.

You will join a small team of engineers working on platform migration, architectural improvements, and the progressive adoption of AI-assisted development practices.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building scalable systems, collaborating closely with teammates, and experimenting with modern engineering approaches including AI-augmented development.

Responsibilities

Software Development

Develop and maintain backend services primarily in PHP and Python

Contribute to full-stack development when needed (Vue.js frontend)

Participate in designing and implementing scalable features

Ensure code quality through testing, reviews, and best practices

Platform Modernization

Contribute to the migration and refactoring of the insurance platform

Help implement event-driven and distributed architectures

Improve performance, scalability, and maintainability of services

AI-Augmented Engineering

Use AI tools (Claude, Copilot, etc.) to improve development efficiency

Experiment with AI-assisted coding and agent-based workflows

Contribute to evolving engineering practices within the team

Team Collaboration

Work closely with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders

Participate actively in technical discussions and knowledge sharing

Your Profile

Strong experience in PHP backend development

Solid understanding of modern software architecture principles

Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred)

Familiarity with event-driven systems or microservices architectures

Comfortable contributing across the stack

Nice to Have

Python backend experience

Frontend experience with Vue.js (or willingness to learn)

Experience with AI developer tools

Previous experience in scale-up or fast-paced environments
