Position Summary:

Our partner, a technology company in the corporate housing industry, is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Software Engineer to join its growing in-house engineering team. In this role, you will help improve the technical foundation of a platform that is used daily across the business. The position is centered on enhancing and scaling production systems, with work that may include optimizing database performance, building new backend services, and improving how applications perform under real-world conditions. As a senior engineer, you will play an important role in driving system performance, evolving architecture, and ensuring platform stability as new features and capabilities are introduced. The team values engineers who take ownership, approach system design thoughtfully, and enjoy making steady, meaningful improvements to existing platforms.

Experience and Education:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience/field
• 6+ years building production web applications in backend or full-stack environments
• Experience developing systems with PHP and modern backend frameworks.
• Prior work supporting or improving existing production applications
• Familiarity with Agile development environments and iterative product delivery
• Exposure to cloud-hosted applications, preferably within AWS environments
• Background working with relational databases and data-driven applications

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Design and build backend services that support internal and customer facing applications
• Develop APIs that power platform features and internal product functionality
• Improve existing application components to support new product capabilities
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks within application code and database queries
• Optimize SQL queries and database access patterns to improve system performance
• Maintain clean, readable code that aligns with modern engineering practices
• Fix production defects and reliability issues within existing systems
• Improve how applications behave under real world production usage
• Support improvements in system monitoring and application observability
• Analyze logs and operational data to better understand system behavior
• Collaborate with engineers to review code and improve overall architecture
• Contribute to technical decisions that strengthen the long-term platform foundation
• Work across both backend and frontend components when necessary
