Job Summary
The Presales Engineer is responsible for supporting the sales team by designing and proposing infrastructure solutions that meet customer technical and business requirements. The role involves performing infrastructure sizing, preparing technical proposals, delivering presentations, and working closely with vendors such as HPE while maintaining awareness of competitive solutions from Dell, NetApp, and Cisco.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical infrastructure solutions.
- Design and size IT infrastructure environments including: Compute (Servers) Storage Backup and Data Protection Networking Virtualization platforms
- Perform capacity planning and infrastructure sizing for enterprise environments.
- Prepare technical proposals, solution architectures, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Support the sales team during customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
- Deliver product demonstrations and proof-of-concept sessions.
- Work closely with vendors such as HPE and maintain awareness of competing solutions from Dell, NetApp, and Cisco.
- Understand and position solutions related to Hybrid Cloud, Private Cloud, and AI-ready infrastructure.
- Participate in RFP/RFQ responses and technical documentation.
- Ensure proposed solutions meet performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure architecture.
- Experience in infrastructure sizing and capacity planning.
- Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Familiarity with HPE infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, backup, hyper converged).
- Awareness of Dell, NetApp, and Cisco infrastructure technologies.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud architectures).
- Understanding of AI infrastructure concepts (GPU servers, AI workloads, data platforms).
- Ability to prepare technical proposals and solution documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in Presales, Infrastructure Engineering, or Solution Architecture.
- Relevant certifications are a plus (HPE, VMware, Cisco, Cloud certifications).
