We are looking for an experienced UI/UX design developer with hands on expertise in design and development of multidisciplinary software development team working in the maritime industry. As the sole designer in a cross-functional team of engineers and developers, you will take ownership of the user experience and interface design across a suite of integrated systems, playing a crucial role in creating intuitive and efficient tools for vessel operators and technicians. You will work primarily within our core platform team, responsible for foundational software, while also collaborating with three additional domain-specific teams focused on Power Management Systems, Remote Control Systems, and Automation Systems. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions and system design to surpass customer expectations.

Mandatory Requirements:

  •  5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX development.
  •  UI/UX designer with hands on expertise in design and development of multidisciplinary software development team working in the maritime industry.
  •  Lead the end-to-end UI/UX design process from research and wireframes to final UI in Figma.
  •  Develop and maintain design systems and reusable components in alignment with engineering using Ignition, Open Bridge and React.
  •  Proficient in creating engaging and intuitive user interfaces using React for web applications, ensuring responsive and dynamic user experiences.
  •  Experienced in applying best practices for accessibility and usability, ensuring products are inclusive and easy to navigate for all users.
  •  Keeps up with the latest trends in UI/UX design and frontend frameworks to create innovative .
  •  Strong proficiency in Figma, with working knowledge of React-based UI frameworks and industrial HMI tools.
  •  Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to present and defend design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  •  Familiarity with or interest in maritime operations, industrial automation, or embedded control systems is a plus

Good to Have:

  • Experience in Industrial software
  • Experience in identifying personas for industrial software
  • Experience designing dashboards, control interfaces, or real-time monitoring tools.
  • Comfort working within version-controlled design/development environments (e.g., Git-based workflows).
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Understanding of accessibility and usability principles in safety-critical environments.

Preferred Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong understanding of modern software architectures and DevOps principles.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently on complex projects.
