About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior iOS Developer to join a large-scale, digitally driven organization based in Leicester. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to influence the development of customer-facing mobile applications within a high-traffic, enterprise environment. The Senior iOS Developer will be responsible for shaping the architecture of iOS applications, implementing innovative features, and mentoring junior developers. The role requires a hands-on approach, combining technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and performant mobile solutions. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product owners, UX, and marketing, the successful candidate will play a key role in continuously improving the company's mobile offerings and ensuring they meet modern standards and user expectations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in iOS development, with proven experience in building and maintaining complex applications. Essential qualifications include expertise in Swift and SwiftUI, with exposure to the latest Swift 6 and iOS 18+ features. A deep understanding of the Apple ecosystem, native app architecture, and mobile UI/UX principles is required. Candidates should have experience integrating RESTful APIs, backend services, and deep linking solutions. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps, and proficiency in unit and UI testing frameworks such as Swift Testing and XCUITest are highly desirable. The candidate must have experience working within Agile and Scrum methodologies, demonstrating excellent troubleshooting, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills. Additional experience with accessibility, multi-language support, and complex deep linking is advantageous.
Responsibilities
The Senior iOS Developer will be responsible for establishing and influencing the architectural foundations of high-performing iOS applications. They will design and implement new features across white-label iOS apps using Swift and SwiftUI, ensuring interfaces are adaptive and scalable across various devices, including phones and tablets. Mentoring 1-2 iOS development squads, the role involves providing technical leadership, code reviews, and guidance to foster best practices within the team. The developer will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and marketing teams to refine requirements and ensure deliverables align with business goals. Managing deployments via Azure DevOps build pipelines, integrating RESTful APIs, backend services, and complex deep linking solutions are key aspects of the role. Additionally, the developer will work closely with architects to define standards and development approaches, continuously reviewing and improving the iOS app offering to enhance performance, usability, and security.
