At Chronosoft, we’re not just building software, we’re crafting resilient, real-time solutions that empower organisations to respond effectively to crises and emergencies large and small. Our platforms are used where reliability, security and clarity matter.
We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to be a key contributor to our world-leading product suite across the entire stack, from REST APIs and real-time backend services through to the React interfaces our customers rely on when it matters most. Our application stack is built on Node.js, Express and PostgreSQL on the backend, with React, React-Redux, Bootstrap and CSS powering the frontend.
This role suits someone who enjoys working across the full stack, cares about code quality and has an eye for intuitive UI. You’re comfortable in both an API and a component, you write tests as a matter of course, and you take pride in shipping features that work reliably under pressure. We’re looking for a mid-level developer who is ready to take on broader responsibility and grow with us as we scale.
We value team players who are willing to work across the business to ensure our product continues to deliver for our ever-growing list of customers across the globe.
This is a Brisbane-based role at our office on Queen Street. We support flexible working, but we also value in-person collaboration and innovation as a team.
Key Responsibilities
Full stack feature development
Design, build and maintain features across our Node.js/Express backend and React/React-Redux frontend. Contribute to all phases from technical design through to deployment.
API design and integration
Build and evolve our RESTful APIs. Integrate with third-party services and internal platform components, ensuring consistent, well-documented interfaces.
Real-time and event-driven systems
Work with WebSocket-based features that underpin live data delivery in our emergency management platforms. Performance and reliability are non-negotiable.
Database development
Write and optimise SQL queries, design schemas, and work with PostgreSQL as a first-class part of your stack rather than an afterthought.
Testing and code quality
Write meaningful tests using Jest or similar frameworks. Participate in code review and contribute to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Customer-facing UI
Build clean, responsive interfaces with React, Bootstrap and CSS that work intuitively for users in high-pressure operational environments.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a developer with around 3–5 years of hands-on experience who is comfortable working across the stack — or is strong on one side of it and genuinely motivated to grow into the other. Whether you’re already a full stack pro, a frontend developer who has been itching to go deeper on the backend, or a backend developer who wants to sharpen their UI skills, we'd like to hear from you.
Specific experience with our stack is an advantage, but what matters more is that you bring solid fundamentals, write code you're proud of, and have the curiosity to pick up what you don't yet know. Our stack currently includes:
• Node.js and Express — server-side development, middleware, async patterns
• React and React-Redux — component design, state management, performance
• Bootstrap and CSS — responsive layout, clean UI, attention to detail
• PostgreSQL / SQL — schema design, query writing and optimisation
• REST API design — resource modelling, versioning, documentation
• WebSockets / real-time — experience with live data or event-driven patterns
• Testing — Jest for unit and integration testing
• Git — comfortable with branching workflows and collaborative development
This is not a graduate role, but mentorship, exposure and progression are very much part of working for our growing scale-up. As we continue to expand, we're looking for people with the potential to take on technical leadership — whether that means owning a product area, mentoring junior developers, or helping shape how we build.
You will work closely with the wider business to deliver solutions that are both essential and innovative to our product suite. A can do team attitude with strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential.
