AO8 Project Manager within the Public Safety Network Management Centre (PSNMC) to support the enhancement and operation of the Public Safety Network. You will lead and manage two programmes and other allocated ICT projects. The two programmes include a portfolio of minor projects for network provision changes for client agencies and the programme for assurance of devices within the PSN. You will be responsible to ensure the successful definition, implementation and completion of project deliverables and handover to other stakeholders for ongoing management. You may also support the implementation of new and emerging technologies for the PSNMC Program of Works.

The Public Safety Network Management Centre (PSNMC) within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business operates the Public Safety Network (PSN). The PSN supports seven agencies: Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire Department, Queensland Ambulance Service, Department of Justice, Queensland Corrective Services, Office of Industrial Relations and Inspector General Emergency Management. The PSNMC is critical to the efficient running of each agency's ICT networks across the broader PSN.

As The AO8 Project Manager, You Will

  • Plan and manage project activities in line with Departmental and Whole of Government best practices and standards, which could include PRINCE2 and agile methodologies.
  • Develop and implement project plans to deliver ICT projects.
  • Conduct analysis to determine project tasks and schedule them to deliver outcomes.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the project team to allocate tasks and coordinate completion to achieve outcomes.
  • Manage allocated resources, including workforce, hardware and funding, according to Departmental and Government policies.
  • Identify risks to delivery of projects, communicate their impact to others and develop mitigation controls.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes and to ensure compliance with business governance processes.
  • Provide regular project progress status and financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to project stakeholders to facilitate informed business decisions that improve business processes and meet changing business needs.
  • Represent the program or project team in a variety of forums.
