Description
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer with strong Fortinet firewall security and WiFi experience to join our network engineering and design team. You will get to work with engineers, technicians, and other IT professionals on a variety of environments, projects, and problems.
This is a fully remote long-term contract position. Candidates may be located in South America or Central America and should have the equipment, connectivity, environment, and work ethic required to be able to work remotely. This role requires excellent English communication. Interviews and work will be conducted in English, and you must apply with an English resume and be able to work GMT–8 business hours to be considered for the role.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls (Palo Alto and Fortinet), routers, switches, and WiFi
- Troubleshoot networks on internal and customer environments independently and with other engineers
- Mentor team members on technical issues, train current and future engineers
- Communicate with users as needed
- Create and maintain complete technical documentation and SOPs
- Fully track time and work done on internal and customer tickets and projects
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Perform other job-related duties as necessary
You should be deeply experienced with:
- Fortinet firewall configuration and network design, additional experience with Palo Alto preferred
- WiFi implementation and support
- Configuration and troubleshooting of network devices including switches and routers
- BGP in an MSPs, data centers, or other multi-tenant environments
- TCP/IP, Layer 2 (VLAN), and Layer 3
- Wireless (802.11x)
- WAN NNI circuit
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience designing network architecture
- 7+ years of network engineering experience
- B2 minimum English skills, C1/C2 preferred
Preferred candidates will also have:
- Experience architecting and configuring enterprise networks
- Networking certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, PCNSE, PCNSC, FCX, FCSS, FCP, or equivalent
Compensation and Benefits:
Selected candidates' job grade and total compensation will be determined by the evaluation of factors including relevant skills, knowledge, and experience, English mastery, shifts taken, and geographic location.
