WHAT WE DO

We are set up to provide our customers with end-to-end support in the process of developing software solutions:

• Business need analysis, design of functional and non-functional requirements, system analysis, support for business transformation and IT/business consultancy;
• User interface and experience design and development for mobile and desktop applications;
• Front and back-end development in a wide range of technologies: Java, .NET, Ruby, GoLang, Oracle, Python.
• Complete Data Warehouse solutions from architecture, design and implementation using mainly Vertica, Oracle and Microsoft platforms.
• Avalanche has been the central counterparty for multiple major banking projects in the Scandinavia and Baltics, in areas such as lending automation, regulatory reporting and calculations, integrations, governance, risk and compliance, Basel II/III, Stress Testing, AML/KYC.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We’re looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Data Steward Consultant to join the Group Data Warehouse area of our enterprise banking client.

This is a perfect opportunity for a mature consultant who thrives in complex data environments, enjoys structuring information, and can bridge business logic, data governance, and delivery execution.

You will be part of a dedicated team of 9 professionals—including senior Business Analysts and Data Warehouse Developers—supporting critical data services across party, location, and internal organization domains.

YOUR MISSION

As a consulting Business Analyst / Data Steward, you will strengthen the client’s enterprise data management capabilities by ensuring that data is understood, structured, documented, and governed effectively.

You’ll work across areas such as:

• Data domain modelling for party, location, and internal organization

• Data loading and transformation into the Group Data Warehouse model

• Data quality and incident analysis, governance, and glossary management

This role blends analytical work, governance activities, and stakeholder collaboration to improve how the client’s data flows and operates across systems.

DO YOU HAVE…

🚀 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Steward, or similar data-focused consultant in enterprise environments

🚀 4+ years hands-on experience with Data Warehousing, understanding data structures, integration, and transformations across multiple systems

🚀 3+ years practical SQL experience for investigation, validation, and analysis

🚀 Solid skills in requirement gathering, impact assessment, and data mapping documentation

🚀 Hands-on application of data governance principles and information management practices

🚀 Experience supporting data quality assessments, root cause analyses, and incident investigations

🚀 Confidence working with multiple stakeholders in a large enterprise setup

🚀 A senior consulting mindset to untangle complex problems and lead structured discussions

BONUS SKILLS…

⭐ Experience in banking or other highly regulated enterprise environments

⭐ Familiarity with enterprise data domain modelling

⭐ Experience contributing to or maintaining a data glossary

⭐ Experience collaborating closely with Data Warehouse Developers
