As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our team as Data Scientist.

The role:

As a Data Scientist, you will deliver advanced analytics and data science solutions to support financial performance, planning, and strategic decision-making across the business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of complex finance-focused data science and advanced analytics initiatives, from problem definition through implementation and business adoption.
  • Partnering closely with Finance, Commercial, and Trading/Buying teams to support margin analysis, pricing effectiveness, forecasting, budgeting, investment evaluation, and performance management.
  • Applying advanced statistical, econometric, and machine learning techniques to financial, transactional, operational, and commercial datasets.
  • Supporting enterprise-wide initiatives such as forecasting accuracy improvement, cost-to-serve analysis, working capital optimisation, and data-driven investment decisions.
  • Developing and presenting clear, credible, data-driven recommendations to Finance leadership and senior stakeholders.
  • Identifying high-value analytical opportunities and translating financial questions into scalable analytical solutions with measurable outcomes.
  • Collaborating across the Data Science & Analytics function to ensure consistent approaches, reusable assets, and shared best practices.
  • Managing and mentoring junior analytics team members within the Finance Analytics spoke.
  • Acting as a strong data-driven advocate within Finance, promoting evidence-based decision-making and challenging assumptions.


What we’re looking for:

  • Passionate about using data, analytics and AI to drive business performance.
  • 3 – 5 years’ progressive experience in Data Scientist, Finance Analyst or similar role.
  • Understanding and experience of data analysis and manipulation techniques on data
  • Experience combining analytic methods with advanced data visualizations.
  • Experience applying computational algorithms and statistical methods to structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to breakdown and clearly define problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to own and deliver projects that deliver real business value.
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Flexibility to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
  • Ability to query large data sets using SQL with experience with cloud-based environments an advantage
  • A third level qualification in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent qualification.
