We are looking for a Software Engineer (Backend/Full‑Stack) to join a highly skilled engineering team working on a modern, high‑performance platform. The role is primarily backend‑focused (Java), with opportunities to contribute on the frontend using React. You will play a key role in core product development, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and help shape the technology of a company in rapid growth mode.

This position is for our client, a fast‑growing Series A startup founded by a top‑tier team with a proven track record in building multi‑billion‑dollar businesses in the banking and payments industry. Their platform helps businesses and accounting firms receive payments faster, more affordably, and with minimal manual effort.

Developed from the ground up for professional service firms, the platform intelligently manages payment request workflows and payment methods, so clients no longer have to handle these processes themselves.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (approximately 80% of the work).
• Contribute to frontend development using React (approximately 20%).
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to define, build, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code to ensure platform performance, quality, and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and debugging.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with continuous opportunities for technical and soft-skill growth.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of experience in software development, with strong expertise in Java.
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design principles).
• Proven experience building scalable, reliable backend systems.
• Ability to take full ownership from ideation to development, testing, release, and operations.
• Experience with test automation.
• Experience with React is a plus.
• Strong commitment to ongoing learning and long-term professional development.
