Want to be part of the change from monolith to microservices? We are currently looking for a Senior Java Back-end Developer with lead ambitions to join our team in Eindhoven.

Organisation

At APS Group IT you will be part of a team with highly skilled members and collaborate with colleagues across different regions. You will work in an innovative environment on complex systems that support marketing operations for international clients such as Albert Heijn, AkzoNobel, Maersk and Barclays.

Within APS, a new Supply Chain domain team is being established. This team focuses on building and evolving systems that manage the suppliers and customers APS works with globally.

As a Senior Back-end Developer you will play an important role in designing and building these services while contributing to the ongoing transition from monolithic systems to a modern microservices architecture.

What you will do

We are looking for someone who is eager to tackle architectural challenges and who wants to work on systems from design to production.

Within this role you will help build and evolve the Supply Chain platform, which manages the suppliers and partners APS works with globally. The team is currently building the Supplier domain, and in the future this platform will expand with a Client domain.

In this role you will:

• Help build the new Supplier domain from the ground up
• Contribute to the future Client domain as the platform expands
• Support the transition from monolithic systems to microservices and event-driven architecture
• Coach peers, lead by example and contribute to clean, testable and maintainable code
• Ensure quality through a test-driven development approach

What you bring

You combine strong technical expertise with the confidence to guide others, challenge assumptions and contribute to architectural decisions. You enjoy taking ownership of solutions end-to-end and collaborating closely with both engineering and business stakeholders.

We are looking for someone with:

• Strong experience with Java (preferably Java 21) and Spring Boot
• Experience building microservices
• Experience with event-driven architecture, REST and PostgreSQL
• Understanding of scalable backend architecture and distributed systems
• Technical leadership qualities and the ambition to grow into a Tech Lead role
• Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
