Overview
We are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support the development and maintenance of core cloud platform services used across multiple projects. The role will focus on building secure, scalable infrastructure and developing automation to enable teams to deliver solutions efficiently within a highly regulated banking environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of core platform services and tooling using Terraform, Python and JavaScript / React.
- Design and build automation solutions that allow engineering teams to deploy infrastructure securely and efficiently.
- Develop reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure patterns to support compliant cloud deployments.
- Build and maintain automation tools using AWS services such as SSM Automations, Lambda, Step Functions, CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
- Support project teams in designing and deploying secure infrastructure across AWS environments.
- Work closely with application teams to ensure systems are secure, reliable and scalable.
- Contribute to the development of security compliance frameworks and cloud governance standards.
- Participate in incident investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve platform capabilities and developer experience.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience working with AWS cloud services in large-scale environments.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform.
- Strong Python scripting / automation skills (or equivalent development experience).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Good understanding of Linux environments (RHEL / Amazon Linux).
- Experience working with AWS services such as:
- EC2
- VPC
- IAM
- S3
- Lambda
- Understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies.
- Experience supporting production systems and handling incident management.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS security and compliance tooling.
- Experience with cloud governance frameworks.
- Exposure to security platforms such as JupiterOne or Wiz.
- Experience building internal developer platforms or cloud tooling.
