What You Will Do

As a front line security analyst working in the Security Operations Centre (SOC) of The Ottawa Hospital you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring security alerts for potential malicious activity detected by security systems such as: Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems, Log Monitoring and SIEM;
  • Engaging in threat hunting activities;
  • Determining and classifying the severity of alerts and assessing potential impacts;
  • Reporting and investigating potential security incidents;
  • Contacting affected users to remediate and provide guidance on security incidents;
  • Creating and maintaining procedure and knowledge articles.


What You Will Bring

  • Completion of College diploma, Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related field;
  • Security Certifications (Security+, CYSA+) or related experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills including patience and diplomacy;
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity Incident response and concepts;
  • Passionate about Cybersecurity and desire to expand your knowledge;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.


You will stand out with:

  • One (1) year of experience working in a computer technical environment;
  • One (1) year of experience in cyber security incident response;
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Office 365 Security, and TheHive
  • Experience using SIEM technologies such as ELK stack;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
