About the Company
Our client is a private equity–backed healthcare technology company building critical infrastructure that powers data exchange, payments, and operational workflows across the healthcare ecosystem.
They operate at meaningful scale and are investing heavily in modernizing their product and engineering organization, with a strong focus on Agile execution, delivery predictability, and platform scalability.
Why This Role Matters
This is not a “ceremony facilitator” Scrum Master role.
This person will play a key role in helping the organization increase delivery velocity, improve predictability, and elevate how cross-functional teams operate.
You’ll partner directly with Product and Engineering leadership to:
- Bring structure and clarity to Agile execution
- Remove friction across teams and systems
- Help teams deliver high-quality, integration-heavy products more consistently
This is a high-impact role where success will be measured by outcomes, not activity.
What You’ll Own
Agile Execution & Delivery
- Lead all core Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, refinement, reviews, retros)
- Drive sprint predictability through capacity planning, velocity tracking, and risk identification
- Ensure backlog readiness and strong alignment between Product and Engineering
Team Effectiveness & Coaching
- Act as a servant leader and Agile coach to engineering teams
- Improve team performance through continuous improvement practices
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and psychological safety
Unblocking & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Proactively remove impediments across Engineering, Product, QA, and DevOps
- Manage cross-team dependencies and ensure smooth coordination
- Align sprint outcomes with broader business priorities
Delivery Visibility & Metrics
- Own visibility into delivery health (burndown, velocity, cycle time, predictability)
- Provide clear, accurate reporting on progress and risks
- Use data to drive improvements in team performance
Process & Systems Optimization
- Identify and address inefficiencies in Agile workflows
- Maintain strong hygiene in tools like Jira/Confluence
- Partner with leadership to evolve Agile practices across teams
What Success Looks Like
- Teams deliver work more predictably and consistently
- Blockers are removed quickly and proactively
- Product and Engineering stay tightly aligned
- Agile practices are not just followed — they’re effective
- Delivery metrics improve over time (velocity, predictability, cycle time)
What We’re Looking For
Core Experience
- 5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a SaaS or technology environment
- Proven track record improving delivery performance within engineering teams
- Strong experience supporting API-driven, integration-heavy, or platform products
- Deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile best practices
Tools & Execution
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar
- Strong grasp of Agile metrics and how to apply them effectively
Leadership & Influence
- Excellent facilitator and communicator
- Ability to influence without authority
- Comfortable operating in cross-functional, fast-moving environments
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare tech, fintech, or regulated environments
- Scrum certification (CSM, PSM, etc.)
- Experience in private equity–backed or high-growth environments
Working Model
- Contract role with intent to convert to full-time W2 in January 2027
- High visibility with Product and Engineering leadership
- Opportunity to shape how Agile is executed across the organization
Why This Role Is Compelling
- Real ownership and impact — not just process facilitation
- Opportunity to influence how teams deliver at scale
- Work on complex, meaningful products in healthcare infrastructure
- Clear path to long-term role and stability
